Kat Lech Psychotherapy

A little about me

Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, so here is a little of what I am like away from the therapy room.

Outside of therapy, you'll find me outdoors with my family and our two dogs. I love going for walks, hiking and exploring new places.

I also enjoy the simple pleasure of a good cup of coffee in a quiet coffee shop, watching the world go by.

I'm happiest when I'm spending time with the people I love, discovering somewhere new or simply enjoying the little things in everyday life.

My experience

Over the course of my career, I have worked in a variety of mental health settings, including NHS Talking Therapies, university wellbeing services, occupational health, drug and alcohol services and private practice.

My experience has involved supporting people with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma and work-related stress, as well as people experiencing more complex mental health difficulties. Earlier in my career, I worked within drug and alcohol services, supporting people experiencing difficulties with substance use alongside their mental health. I also gained experience working with people experiencing personality disorders and psychosis.

Working across these different settings has given me a broad understanding of the many different factors that can affect someone's mental health. It has also reinforced for me that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Every person brings their own experiences, circumstances and challenges, and I believe it is important to take the time to understand these when deciding how best to support them.

This experience continues to shape the way I work today. I aim to see the person behind the difficulties they are experiencing and provide therapy that is compassionate, collaborative and tailored to their individual needs.
